I'm surprised this didn't make it into the news last week. Unless I missed it, I haven't heard anything about it.
So last weekend you may or may not have heard of the woman who got attacked in her own backyard by a pitbull in Grandview (Springfield, Illinois). A pitbull of which belonged to the people behind her house, jumped over the back fence and attacked Mary Sherer while she petting another dog in her own backyard while leaning on a fence dividing her yard from another yard. The pitbull came out of nowhere and attacked her while she was leaning on the fence.
Just yesterday, her grandson posted 2 pictures on Facebook of the ladies arm before and after going into surgery.
What's really shocking about this whole thing, is what the pound is saying about the dog not being vicious. Here's what Kenny Johnny Cadillac Eskew posted on Facebook yesterday.
I need your guys opinion on this is it a bite or a mauling this is what my grandmothers neighbors pit bull did saturday morning the pound has deemed this dog not vicious. Let me know what you guys think and also I know a lot of are going to assume pitbulls are naturaly mean this not the case you have to train your animals and treat them right this is a question of bite or mauling let me know thanks .....there is another picture of today on my wall as well
After getting stiched up, this is what her arm looks like.
290 total stiches!
They say the dogs not vicious and doesn't need put down after this attack. What do you think? Do you think the dog should be put down?
After hearing from people on the Kramer show yesterday, we've learned that the case was reopened and the Grandview police department are investigating this further. The dog is being quarantined for 10 days and must be on a leash, and wearing a muzzle when outside using going to the bathroom.
